THE COLOR RUN-COLUMBUS

So so excited for my second race and to meet a whole new group of peeps!  This race Sean was the Race Director so I got to see Lance just a little bit more.  This one also was my first indoor packet pickup and store.  I must say I prefer outside, I think it just has a different vibe to it.  I really enjoyed this race because I felt like I got to know some of the people I had met before more and there was also some fabulous new people!  I  learned a bunch more on how to run the store and be the lead.  I would really like to do a big chunk of Lance's runs. I also didn't mind eating ice cream every night!  Columbus was a cool city and I wish we had more time to explore especially to see the Victoria's which is suppose to be the biggest one anywhere. Next year for sure!

THE COLOR RUN-AMARILLO

Lance got a new job in March as a Race Director at The Color Run.  When he initially told me about it I was super hesitant.  I had never even heard about something like that but he was ready for a change so we jumped in.  With Cornerstone he traveled a lot but when he was in town it was like he still was out of town.  I rarely saw him.  I knew he would still be traveling with Color Run but thought he would be home more and I would talk to him more.  Well kind of. He is traveling on average twice a month from Tuesday or Wednesday until Sunday.  The nice thing is when he is in town he is usually home by 5:30 and has weekends off so it feel like he is here a lot more.  As for when he is on the road I talk to him less.  The first couple runs I was very irritated that I was never hearing from him. How could he not have time when I see him on Facebook it looks like he is just playing!  Well it took my first time to go with him to understand.
This job has been amazing and had so many unexpected surprises.  One of them being me able to go with him and work the store.  I was very nervous but it is so up my ally.  We are working insane hours, sleeping very little, starving and having a blast.  You are with people 24 hours a day.  There is not a lot of time to talk on the phone or really even pee.  Basically I am just selling Color Run merchandise, moving lots of boxes with fabulous music pumping in the background.  I love the manual labor part of it all as well.  Its a fabulous workout plus were just dirty, sweaty and no getting relay!  Perfect!
The first day I was in Amarillo I was a little unsure what I was going to think about this but it was just fabulous.  The real Housewives of Amarillo as Lance called them were amazing.  We bonded really quickly and it was a great first race for me to go on.  They also throw a great party! I also met a ton of Lances co-workers and I just love them too! Something that I was not really expecting was the extra bonding in Lance and I.  I think we really have a great marriage but there hasn't been a lot of time for just he and I.  I also did not expect we would like working together like we do.  I spend very little time with him on the runs.  He is busy with his thing and me with the store.  It was fun and a bit sexy to watch him from a far and think  how awesome that he is in charge of putting together a race from start to finish of 15000 people and doing a fabulous job.  To have some alone time to only worry about me, to worry about us.  I think it has just pulled us a little closer together.  I really want to do quite a few more runs but babysitters are a little hard so we will see. I will need to figure it out because I am already jealous when I don't get to go!  I think we are both really excited about what is to come.

A MOAB QUICKY

Lance has been wanting a Moab trip for just us for a VERY LONG TIME! Combining 2 of his favorite things, Me (for sure) and biking. He has been traveling a lot lately and so after a 12 day trip to New Orleans we took off the day after he got home. It was memorial weekend and the arts festival so there was no hotels and no where to take our trailer so we tent camped. It has been so long since we had done that but I was just going with the flow this weekend. Something I struggle with.

We also could not find a place to camp until we were going through the last camp ground and a lady flagged us down to say that someone from the campground office was saving a spot for some locals but they had not been there the last 2 nights. Then another guy came over to say it's yours basically so we kind of took over a fabulous spot hoping no one would come back to kick us out.

The next morning we rode Slick Rock. This was maybe my 3rd or 4Th real ride. The first 30 minutes or so I was shaking and so nervous. There are some big freaking hills and one small mistake and you are off a cliff. After that I was good to go and really did pretty good! It was about 4 hrs of kicking my butt and I loved it!

The rest of the time we wandered through shops, ate and found a shower at the aquatics center. We were suppose to stay till Sundee but a huge wind storm came in and sanded us completely out so we left late Saturday night. It was a much needed mini break and we loved it!

EASTERN CARIBBEAN

Lance and I just got back from a 7 day cruise to the Caribbean. He decided to book it and tell me about it about 2 weeks prior, he wanted to make it a surprise. It was the best surprise I have had in a long time. The last big vacation that we had together was almost 6 years ago to Hawaii, where I became preggo with Meg. None this time, Thank You!!!
Marchelle, my Mamma and Kee took over the girls for the 8 days we were gone. Everyone was so great to do this and all seemed to go smoothly. I don't think the girls even missed us much. Poor Kee was a bit delirious when we got home but hopefully it was some great birth control. I, Of coarse, left detailed instructions for all just in case. DON"T JUDGE, I already know I am OCD and anal. I had to keep record of it so I can remember how crazy I am!

There was about 25 people in our group. We only knew one couple to begin with, Scott and Krissi, but the whole group was so great and we had so much fun. Usually after that long being gone I am ready to come home but I can honestly say I could have stayed another week if we could have shipped the girls over to us. I am still sad about being home. What an amazing trip.
We started out by flying into Ft. Lauder dale where the airline lost our luggage. Luckily they tracked it down and we were only without it one night. The next day off to sea...

SAN JUAN
Our cabin was great and seemed a lot bigger than our last cruise. We were on the 1st floor which turned out nice because after hiking 9 flights of stairs 10 times a day it was a good workout.
We got into San Juan on Monday and mainly just wandered the town. There was not a ton to see but that night we were planning on Zip Lining, The Original Canopy Tour-La-Marquesa. This was the only thing Lance really wanted to do. I was so super nervous about flying
above the rain forest. It was so much fun, We loved it. The only drawbacks were that we did it in the dark. It made it seem more scary but we missed out on a lot of the scenery. Also Lance and I went very first of the group so no waiting and Krissi and Scott got stuck at the very end behind all the dumb, freaking out people.

The days that we were at sea were just as great and relaxing as being at the ports. The daily schedule ran about the same: Sleeping in till about 10-11. It is so dark and the boat rocks you to sleep, Love it!
Heading up to the gym. At the price of getting made fun of by Scott, Thanks!
Getting breakfast.
Laying by the pools and catching a few boat activities.
Getting ready and heading to dinner.
Playing at the casino.
Karaoke till it closes
Dance Club
Adult comedy show
Ice cream and Pizza
In bed about 2.
Lance found a new love, Karaoke! He sang Ice Ice Baby, The humpty
dance and Summer Lovin. It was great! We had the cutest little grandma that hung in the Karaoke lounge each night and joined right on in.
There was one drawback to the ship. There was at least 50 % of the ship that was 60 and older. I am all for senior citizens but they were so damn rude and slow. I also got into a fight one night with a grandpa at the comedy show, a big fight. He was pissed because I moved down one seat to make more room for our group and he wanted me to move. Had he been nice I would have but he was such a jerk that there was no way in hell my butt was going anywhere, so we duked it out. Lots of fun! He kind of eyed me the rest of the time on the ship.

The girls and I had so much fun. I am a bit upset because the boat loves to take a crap load of pictures for you so that they can charge a fortune to buy them. Krissi and I had piled all of our pictures together so that we could decide which ones to buy on the last day. Well on the last day they were gone, we think they were pissed we did it and threw them away. We had some great ones too.
MEGAN'S BAY, ST. THOMAS
Tuesday we hung out at the beach. This beach is suppose to be one of the top 10 in the world. It was really pretty. Lance chased the giant Iguanas and made friends with a great group of guys, the loved him, he had his spedo on that day!!! The rest of us layed in the sun and chatted, so perfect.

LA ROMANA-DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
ALTOS DE CHAVON ARTIST'S VILLAGE
Today we headed up to the top of La Romana. This was a super cool little village, shopping place. The scenery was amazing. We bought the girls coconut purses that are super cute. After we left there we went to Catalina Island to snorkel. It was ok. The water was murky and cold.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS
Our last stop. I wish we could have had more time in Nassau. There is so much more to do. We spent the day at Atlantis, which is amazing. I would love to go back and stay there for a week.

When we got home Meg had written us a note and hung it on the garage door. She is so damn cute.

RESOLUTIONS 2009

Another year has just flown by. This year seemed like such a different year, a growing year. As husband and wife, as a family and also with our amazing friends. We has such a great time vacationing, swimming, biking, running and just hanging out. It is really nice for the girls to be getting a bit older and be able to involve them in so much more.
I am really excited for Lance and I to start off the year with a fab trip, for another great summer full of vacations, for Ava to start her first year in pre-school and Meg in kindergarten and I guess we will have to start thinking about adding another mini to the bunch-not super excited to be preggo again. That is what we are looking forward to in the year to come and now lets see how we did last year...

Last years resolutions...
-Take at least 1 big trip without minis- We did not take a big trip but a ton of little ones and I will count the cruise that we will be going on this month. (1 point )
-Finish all major construction on house: garage and basement-NEGATIVE, have not started.
-A new car for me-YES, I did get the Acadia(minivan incognito as my fam likes to call it)
-New mattress-NEGATIVE, I still kind of like the people holes in our mattress now.
-Washer and Dryer-YES
-More patient with the girls-OK, I am pretty patient with the exception of bitch week.
-More sympathetic: with meg and lance-Failed miserably, just ask Lance.
-Learn to cook: I am pretty well on top of everything but dinner. I don't even think about it until 4:30 and we like to eat by 5-5:30. NEGATIVE, I have gotten worse.
-To play more and run errands less-OK on that. I can not run errands, Ava is to naughty.
-For my bras and panties to always match: seems to be an expensive resolution but how cute!-Definitely more conscious on that but you always fall back to your old favs.
-To always have lip gloss on: silly, I know, but cute as well.-BIG FAT NEGATIVE
-To be hair free: I just had my third laser hair removal treatment and it is fabulous and pain free, I highly recommend it!!-A few patches but pretty damn close!

I must have been more interested in the material things because I did better on those than the self help things. I guess last year I really wanted to take time for me and I can see that I did. I thoroughly enjoyed myself!!!
So this year is a bit different. Lance and I usually do have a few fun things that we want to purchase through out the year and a few goals. In our heads I am sure he will be thinking about the many toys he wants and i will be thinking about the many decorating and home projects that I would love to do but we are going to just be happy with where we are now!
I will try to redo a few of the failed goals from last year and add a few new ones.
-PATIENCE
-TO BE MORE SYMPATHETIC
-TRY TO SLOW DOWN, HANG WITH MY HONEY MORE
-TRY TO NOT PICK MY FINGERS AND TOES*******************
That's it. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

TwiLiGHt!

I just finished reading Twilight. I needed something to do this weekend and decided I am probably the very last person to read it, so might as well. I must have enjoyed it because I read it in two days and am looking forward to reading the next one. I found it very funny that, I think, one of the main reasons everyone likes it so much is because it is a clean, trashy romance novel. About half way through all I kept thinking was would Edward freeking make out with Bella or me for that matter, anyone else? As it went on I kept thinking about that and forgetting that they are only in high school. I also was a little sick of hearing about how clumsy and awkward Bella is and about her being a food source. Over all I thought it was really good. Soon I will be starting the next!!

My HOO HOO

Without sounding like a pansie, I just thought I would take a moment to recognize my wife. I'll make it short and sweet. Ris is an outstanding mother and spouse. When I think about what she does all day I have to give her props. Her days usually consist of getting the girls ready, picking up around the house, laundry, bookwork for my business, and just keeping our life in order. This might sound pretty normal, but if I tried to do what she does our home, finances, children, and general well being would be a mess. Not to say I could'nt hold my own, but she makes our world a very pleasant one. Thank you sweetheart for all that you do for our family. I'd be lost without you. Love, Lance

TAGGED AGAIN

I have been tagged again by Tara, to find out some very important things about myself.

TEN YEARS AGO...I was still living at home, working for Zumiez as the assistant manager, dating Lance and starting hair school.

FIVE PLACES I HAVE LIVED...1- Orem house just off 8th no(behind Orem Jr.). 2- Orem house just off center(behind Mtn View). 3-Orem condo just off 8th north(by Gold's Gym).4- Orem house just off center street(above Trafalga). 4-Orem house just off 8th no( by Cascade Golf Coarse). How funny that I keep moving back and forth on these two streets, until now I have not noticed that.

FIVE THINGS TO DO ON MY TO DO LIST...For Monday I will be taking pics for my photo class. Going to Meg's Valentine program at school. Closing on my refi. Working at night. Going to the bank.

I ENJOY...8:00 p.m. Both the girls are in bed.

THREE BAD HABITS...I love to rip my toenails off. I usually have the fridge, for sure the dishwasher and the cupboards open most the time that I am working in the kitchen. I tend to leave the water running more often and a lot longer than I should. I am working on that one.

5 THINGS YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT ME...I can not crack an egg, it always have plenty of shell in it. I generally only prefer to boff between the hours of 10-5. My face gets red very easily. I love piggy banks and my great great grandpa is Wilford Woodruff.

FIVE JOBS THAT I HAVE HAD...Golden Swirl, Supersonic, Mr. Rags, Chilis and Aspen.

Tagg- Sommer, Natalie, Sunshine, Shannon and Jill.

THANKFULL

Yesterday was not your average Super Bowl Day. Lance had gone snowmobiling Saturday day with our friend Shane. He was suppose to come home early Sunday morning to beat the storm.

About 11:30 Melissa, Shanes wife, called me to see if I had heard from them, which I had not, also to let me know that there were 3 messages on Shanes phone fron Sanpete County search and rescue, letting Shane know that they were trying to find them. We called the sargent and he informed us that they were working on it but that it was a complete white out, that they did not know where they were and that it may be to dangerous to send anyone else out right now. Of coarse we panicked.

Shane and Lance had left the cabin about 9, on their sleds. They were on their way to the truck when they got seperated in the white out. After a few hours, being super disoriented and both being stuck multiple times, Shane found his way back to the cabin and Lance kept trying to find his way to the road, which was covered in snow. It was so bad that Lance would push on the gas and could hear the sled going but wasn't actually going anywhere, he was stuck in the snow. They had 3 feet of fresh powder on Saturday and 2 more on Sunday. Luckly search and rescue got a snowcat to come plow and the volunteer snowmobiliers followed.

They made it home about 5:30 and they are both great. It is so scary all the things that race through your mind when you have no idea if they are ok or where they are even at. I am so thankfull that they are home and safe.

RESOLUTIONS

January has been such a busy month, so we are a bit behind but Lance and I usually make a list each year of things we would like to accomplish or maybe a purchase we would like to make. Our list together is pretty short this year:

-Take at least 1 big trip without minis
-Finish all major construction on house: garage and basement
-A new car for me
-New matress
-Washer and Dryer
As for me I personally have a few more. My resolutions are things that I would like to be doing on a regular basis by the end of the year. Some are a bit unconventional but what do you do:
-More patient with the girls: especially middle of the night
-More sympathetic: with meg and lance
-Learn to cook: I am pretty well on top of everything but dinner. I don't even think about it until 4:30 and we like to eat by 5-5:30. Help!!
-To play more and run errands less
-For my bras and panties to always match: seems to be an expensive resolution but how cute!
-To always have lip gloss on: silly, I know, but cute as well.
-To be hair free: I just had my third lazer hair removal treatment and it is fabulous and pain free, I highly recommend it!!
There it is. I feel that sometimes as a mom everything is about your kids and husband so this year I wanted to do a few things for myself.

DATE NIGHT

Lance and I finally had our first date night in about 3 months. The girls and I may not make it one more day together. Being stuck in the house is so hard for us all, so they were shipped to have a sleepover at pa and meems.
We went to dinner at Bankok Grill( Thai food, Lances choice) and is was super good. I am glad he made me try something new, I can't wait to go again. Next to the movies. My pick, Juno or P.S. I Love You and Lances, Cloverfield or I am Legend. You know I won so Juno it is. It was really cute and we had a great time. As much as we love our girls it was so nice to go to bed solo and wake up solo. We should try date night more often I think!

PHOTO CLASS

I just finished my 101 photo class taught by Nicole Hill. It was so much info very quickly but I love it. I am taking her 102 class next month. Here is a bit of what I have been taking. I am not looking to be pro or anything but it is so nice to know what all the buttons on my camera are for. Hopefully this will prep me for my last years goal to finally learn to do digital scrap booking. You know I had to take pics of my favorite cookies!!!I had to follow meg, shooting what she does in a day step by step. I had no idea that this was going to be so much work. She so over me taking pics of her.
