FINALLY 5 & HSP

Today could not have been any crazier!  It is Ava's 5th birthday, as well as her party and we threw a few more things in there!
This morning I dropped Ava off at school with her chocolate doughnuts for her class.  On my way to drop Meg off at school I decided I had better check with Dr. Wilcox because Meg has had swollen knees that have been hurting and it has now drained to both feet. Immediately the nurse says she needs to be seen and not go to school.  Me being the super sympathetic mother that I am had just figured that over spring break we played a ton and jumped a ton so she has just hurt something in her leg.  Knowing it was not broken because she can walk on it I thought it would just take some time to feel better.  Well not so much!
After a hair appointment I had to do I take Meg to the Dr and her feet are huge and covered in spots.  She is such a sweet little trooper and still has such a positive attitude.  They look at her and believe it is something called HSP.  Which is basically a temporary inflammation of the blood vesicles that happens usually in Spring to kids and takes about a month to go away.  It feels like walking on bruises because her feet are so swollen.  Also what they worry about is her kidneys.  So they send me to the hospital to have her blood work done and we will know more after. It is now 11:30 and I have a birthday party at Chuck-E-Cheese for Ava at 12:00.  Meg really wants to go so we head there and then to the hospital after.
Ava has been talking about her birthday since her last birthday and now that this one is over we are already talking about her next!  She is killing me!  All she wanted to do was go to Chucks and Menchies so that is what we did.  Chuck turned out great and she loved it.  They really do pull together a pretty good little party.  I also got in a few games of ski ball which I love!!!
Meggy was a wreck by the time we left.  Walking around for 2 hours just killed her and me!  It was so hard to watch her try to walk and makes me so grateful for my healthy girls!  Luckily Shan assisted with taking kids home and then Gage showed up at the end to help me get her into the car because piggy backing her was a bit rough!  We ran over to the hospital for her blood work and then home for a break!  Everything came back normal with her blood work so from here on out she just has to take it easy and try to stay off her feet. We will be having weekly apts to check her urine and blood pressure.
That night the girls, meem and I made a Menchies run for Ava, a quick stop at grandmas and home to bed!
I think with all the chaos Ava still had a great birthday!  This little girls sucks us all in and rocks our worlds all in the same breath!  She says the funniest things and I always has so much info running through her head.  You can't help but eat her right up!

EASTER

Saturday night started off Eater weekend just perfect.  Meem took the girls for a late over while Lance and I had date night.  This happens very rarely these days and it was much needed especially because I was heading into 16 days with no hubby. We went to dinner at PF Chang's followed with Lowe's,  voice overs at Lances work and some last minute Easter shopping.  I really love to have him there when shopping for Holidays.  I really struggle to pull the trigger and he always has great ideas.
This year we were missing a big part of the clan but it was still a great day.  We had brunch here with lots of yummy food and an Easter egg hunt for the girls.  We laid in the sun with way to many treats and magazines which is exactly what makes me happy!   Lance got to spend half of Easter day with us where last year he was gone.  We took him to the airport at three while Meem, Dude and Meagan went to the movies.
