THANKSGIVING

This year for Thanksgiving we started at Britney's house about noon for round one. We had so much food and a ton of left overs. It was great to see Dan, Adrienne and the kids and meet new baby Ella, who is so darling! Next we went to my parents house for round two. Meg was very excited to tell what she was thankful for this year. At first she said just Pa and Vea and then she changed her mind to be all of her friends and her family. I of coarse am so thankful for my amazing friends and family but mostly that we are all still here and healthy. We are so thankful that Jenn has made a full recovery and will soon be our next celebrity=) I also got in trouble at the table because I wanted to say what we are selfishly thankful for and mine are...my pump teacher Melissa, lots of caffeine and chai! YEAH!
We do a gingerbread house contest each year with my family. Usually Lance and I win but this year we sucked big time!!! I am not sure what happened but the creativity and drive just was not there. Jen and Kev took the lead with their little bungalow oasis and everyone else came in a close second. I would say Lance and I took a dead last! We also celebrated Gages birthday that night! His 21st birthday! We love you uncle dude!!!

NOW I LAY ME...DOWN TO SLEEP

Usually we alternate who says the prayers but lately Meg would like to do it every night. Her prayers are so funny and cute that I had to post to remember it.

Father in heaven, we thank you for this day.
Please bless mom and dad, Meg and Ava.
Bless that we'll sleep in our beds all night, have no bad dreams and think no bad thoughts.
Please bless that we'll have a good day tomorrow at (Pause...What are we doing tomorrow mom?) oh...at school etc.
Also bless that well be nice to out sister and we won't hit, push or anything else mean to our sister.
And that we will mind our mom and dad.
We thank you for our blessins and please don't let anyone get sick, get a stroke or get swine flu.
Say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
Then after wards she asks, Mom what was your favorite part?

I love the ending it is so funny and she is so excited to hear what my favorite part of her prayer is. I also love that she adds a stroke and swine flu in there. I swear at 5 she shouldn't know about either of them. So cute!

CHRISTMAS LISTS ARE IN!

Tonight we made our lists to Santa. Meg basically wants everything in the magazines and on TV even if she doesn't know really what they are. Everything else that she wanted that wouldn't fit on her list she said Ava could have so she could have half of it. Smart thinking! I also told her that since she was going to be 6 by Christmas that she should put her 6 very favorite things on her list. You can see how well that went. Ava picked out a few things in the toy books and told me the rest. I also showed her a picture of Santa and asked who he was and she told me a grandpa. We' ll see what she thinks of him this year.
