JENN
I just got back from 5 days in California with Jenn. On the 30Th of May Kevin took her to the ER for extreme dizziness and throwing up. They thought she had Vertigo but decided to scan her just in case and they found a bleed in her Cerebellum. She was in ICU for the next 5 days and then they found out that she also had a stroke. They moved her to the stroke unit for the rest of the week and let her go home on the 6Th of June. My parents were there for the week she was in the hospital and then I flew out the next weekend.
I was very nervous that I was not going to be able to hold it together when I saw her but she looked great and was doing much better than I had expected. She couldn't walk by herself, only with help or with a walker, when I got there but by the time I left she was walking solo and just a bit slow. Her speech, memory and facial expressions are great. She is still struggling with throwing up, and her head motions.
While I was there we tried to get out at least once a day. We got a pedicure, a bit of shopping, eating out a couple times, cut her hair, and ate lots of treats! Other than that we watched lots of TV. Food Network and HGTV mostly and then started the series Big Love(so crazy). I am so grateful that I could be there for her and wish I could of stayed longer. Luckily she has Kevy there with her and he is so incredibly helpful and patient! Her doctors say she should make a full recovery in 3 months and we are praying for her every day, We love you!
MEGGY
When I left I had a very sweet little angel and when I got home I had quite the opposite! Lance had told me about a few of the things that were going on while I was gone but I figured it was going to take just a few days to kick her back into shape. We are still working on it.
A big thing for me is that my girls act like ladies and just because the boys do or say it does not mean that we do well that flew pretty much out the door. Some of the fun things I have gotten since I have been home is, "OUCH my nuts!" & "Just kick em in the balls" & "Your bugging me, can't you just leave me alone" & " Why do I have to clean and you don't." We are getting this along with hitting, pouting and kind of a life sucks attitude. NONE of this flies with me so she has spent a lot of time in her room, no TV, computer and no friends.
Also she had developed a new fear of the lazy river at Lindon pool. She could not figure out which opening to get off at and got scared so a lady helped her out. She is a great swimmer by the way! So every night right before bed and often times in the middle of the night she starts crying about being scared and if I am thinking of going to that pool again. I tell her if she is scared then do not go in it! She says to me," Well I just can't help myself." AHHHHHH
Lets add a bit more...
AVA
Before I left I took Ava to the Dr to have her ears checked. When she gets to the point of where I am barely going to make it with her I know that something is going on. The Dr said other than a bit of congestion she looks great but if she is not getting better by Monday( 6 days) then to call and we will start her on an antibiotic. I called on wed when I got back and she has now been on it for 6 days. IT IS NOT HELPING! She has seriously been crying and whining all day long FOR WEEKS!!! She has more never ending green boogers than I have ever seen in my life. They are starting another one today that will hopefully help.
THE MAMA
Although I feel very bad for Ava and know she cannot help it, I cannot handle one more day. My patience are gone with both of them. My voice has gotten many tones to loud and I have completely lost my mind. I can usually handle everything just fine and the only time the girls are driving me nuts is if Lance and I are fighting. We are great and he has been so helpful but I have so many stupid things I need to do like renew my expired DL and get an ultrasound and I cannot even think about taking them with me. Shouldn't they learn to play by themselves once in awhile instead of me always being the entertainer? I am sure this terrible rain is not helping and somewhere along the line my girls need to realize that once a week I do need to clean and mow the lawns and occasionally take a brief moment to myself. Praise the lord to my 6am running. My fabulous hour all to myself!
